François Mangeol has designed a carpet entitled, “Occidorient.”
It is a mixed representation of Western and oriental cultures, “using representative codes. It is woven in the Persian traditional way and the carpet invokes within its tapestry a unique creativity. It incorporates the eastern double function of practical and symbolic. It is built like a work of architecture, representing a plan. It establishes within it's center "the sphere of the universe." The symbols on the carpet are also drawn from western typographic elements found in the Times New Roman family “It performs, by aggregation and without any deformation of the typographic characters, and comes across very “odalisque.”

Ok...I'm definately a nerd right now...but I can't help it, I like this esoteric driven, east meets west type of artistry.
