Having previously worked with Comme des Garcons and Opening Ceremony, Brett Westfall’s art focused label Unholy Matrimony has collaborated with sneaker brand Feiyue on a wearable, custom shoe design. Made up of an all-black canvas upper, and mostly tonal details, the sneaker is subtly embellished with Unholy Matrimony’s pink mushroom logo. These lightweight, comfortable shoes are scheduled to hit retail in the Spring/Summer of 2010.
For those of you unfamiliar with Feiyue, the brand first appeared in the 1920s in Shanghai where it was worn by people of all classes. In 2006, the label was picked up by a team of French footwear enthusiasts who have blended their Western and international influences to create an open, diverse style. Feiyue literally means “Flying Forward.”
