I'm happy for Kardi and for what this album symbolically means. Toronto Rap is on the Map, and has been on the map for awhile now, Kardi's album pushes an impressive 500,000 sales in its first week internationally, amidst a dwindling music market, and that's not too too bad at all. Musically its a well engineered blend of commercial and trademark Kardinal Offishall. I hope he's smart with his money and banks it intelligently, way to go Kardi...we who arent haters are all rooting for you here back home, and to quote him "T.Dot motherfuckers, watch the world rape us".
Kardinal about the meaning of his album title: "There's energy you can't buy—the essence of people that can't be bought or bottled, and lives within them. That's how I feel about myself—I can't be bought".
Below is a vid of Bishop Brigante showing his support for Kardi, and this is Toronto Solidarity, take note...this is how its done.
