Jay Electronica's EXHIBIT C - receives a REVISIT by Toronto Artists 'Sep' and Ashton Martin

Everyone whose plugged into the nostalgia of underground hip hop has heard of JAY ELECTRONICA and his tracks entitled "Exhibit A and Exhibit C" - songs that have been co-signed by some of the biggest heavyweights in Rap, proclaiming them among the other gems created with producer 'Just Blaze' as "straight classics". Instrumentals to these classic songs have been leaked and I must say that there are a lot of rappers making (EXHIBIT B.S) out of what are really dope songs by the original artist.

But every now and then there comes along a version that might catch your ear, and one such version heralds from Toronto, Canada, spawned by the lyrical mind bending genius of a rapper named SEP, who comes in on the second verse; after the feature of another talented up and coming rapper from Toronto named Ashton Martin. Needless to say I was thoroughly impressed, and I had to sign this brotha to my management company right away...and he's now I AM IN DEMAND.Com affiliated.

Straight fire!!!

I've always known this about certain industry kats...how in one way there's the illusion you see...and then on the flip side there's the intellectual and creative maturity (after all we are complicated human beings - all of us).

Download MP3: Ken Masters - Remake of Jay Electronica's Exhibit A

Via: Ken Masters House

From Toronto: "Ken Masters" takes a stab at Jay Electronica's smash - "Exhibit A" and does a remake of the track and mirrors the overall tone and amber of the feel contained within the original. He does a spin-off of a few of Drake's rhymes as a footnote of Toronto's signiture style while adding many of his own signitures. Ken Masters has opened in arenas for platinum selling artists, such as Young Buck, Mario, Inspectah Deck of the Wu-Tang Clan, and also has wrapped up a west coast tour with Rapper The Game. I thought this track by him was pretty well done, compared to alot of what I've heard out there recently. Download and take a listen...

Wyclef Speaks on Accusations Against Yele -”I’ve Always Been Committed to the People of Haiti”

Via: Yele Haiti.org

A report from TheSmokingGun.com accused Wyclef and his Yele Haiti organization of mis-appropriation of funds this week, and Wyclef took to his personal YouTube account yesterday to address the accusations.

Wyclef was one of the first activists to take action to raise funds for Haiti after the earthquake, and raised over $1 million in just a day. Wyclef himself has been working tirelessly with his family in Haiti, physically doing whatever needs to be done to help the victims. In this video, he is visibly weary, and despite his frustration with the Smoking Gun report, he thanks everyone for their support. He says he will be making trips to Haiti every few days, and will also be putting up video footage so that people can see what is really going on there.

We at I AM IN DEMAND.COM firmly believe that Wyclef and The Yele Haiti organization is doing everything it can with the generous donations given to the charity for this tragedy. The problem at hand is much bigger than blogs looking for attention. Let’s focus on what we can do to help our brothers and sisters, because that is ALL that matters right now.

The Teachings of "Fudoshin" translated to mean "The Immovable Mind" is awesome

Via: Executive Budo

In Sanskrit the term ācala means "immovable"; Ācala is also the name of the eighth stage in a ten stage path process to become a 'Bodhisattva' which itself means an "enlightened-being". The picture above is of "FUDO-MYOO" and he is a highly venerated Buddhist figure in Esoteric Buddhism, because Fudō is the symbolic figure who converts anger into salvation. He carries the “kurikara” translated to mean "the devil-subduing sword" in his right hand (representing wisdom cutting through ignorance); and he holds rope in his left hand (to catch and bind up demons). He is often shown with a third eye in his forehead (the all-seeing eye); and is often seated or standing on a platform rock (because Fudō is “immovable” in his faith).

The Buddha was known to have said: "before my Awakening, when I was an unawakened bodhisatta, being subject myself to aging...illness...death...sorrow...defilement, I sought [happiness in] what was likewise subject to illness...death...sorrow...and defilement."

----

When I'm not immersed in music and popular culture; the philosophy of "FUDOSHIN" also known as the "immovable mind" has been of tremendous insight to me personally as I read more and more about it.

Fudoshin, having an immovable mind, means you do not allow your emotional state to waver. It means having the mental strength to overcome fear, surprise, confusion and doubt. No matter the situation, you are able to maintain a calm state of mind. Peripheral Training promotes development of Fudoshin.

Canada's Governor General: (of Haitian Descent)
Michaelle Jean with Barack Obama

OTTAWA (Reuters) - Canada's Haitian-born governor general, Michaelle Jean, broke down in tears as she reflected on the devastation to her native country. Jean is the representative of Queen Elizabeth, Canada's head of state, and said the situation in Haiti had monopolized her attention since the earthquake struck on Tuesday.

"The images and news reports are unbearable to watch -- so much distress, suffering and loss," she told reporters after attending a briefing session with Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

Harper and Jean were told the Canadian Forces were in the process of arranging for ships, helicopters and relief equipment to be sent to Haiti. A 20-strong military reconnaissance team was already flying in on Wednesday and the military's Disaster Assistance Response Team was being readied to be sent as soon as the advance group says exactly what is needed.

Governments will do what they can, but their are WAYS YOU CAN HELP:

Children (13 and under) were asked to predict the future

Via: philly.com

Philly.com recently sent questionnaires to parents and teachers asking their children (13 and under) what they think the world will be like in 10 years. These are some of the answers. And as you will see, some of these kids really know what's up!

- I think all of the animals will be dead in 10 years because America is polluting too much. People who aren't married won't have dogs, cats, fish, or any other type of house animal.
Lexi Schommer, 8
Penn Valley

- People will be friendlier because they can talk to each other on more than one phone.
Morgen Zighelboim, 5
Huntingdon Valley

- Robots will take over the world. They will have lasers.
Jacob Eiseman, 9
Penn Valley

- In a decade I think that the time machine will be invented. Maybe somebody will make a new ice cream flavor and the government will find a way to stop pollution. They will also make a machine to control the seasons. After, there would be a candy that makes you shrink. Astronauts would land on Mars and explorers would find new types of fish. They would also discover a new Arctic animal and a new island.
Guille Ribeiro-Vecino, 8
Wynnewood

- Everybody will have a jet pack.
Dylan Marcus, 7
Cherry Hill

- There may not be any blue sky.
Annie Lindner, 11
Haverford

- We will live in a world of pure luxury with computers that are programmed by a human's thoughts. We will have no racism, no crime, no need for anyone to take people to court, no need for divorce. There would be no end to happiness. The poor would be welcomed into newly built houses without hesitation. Rich people would donate to every charity known. We would find a cure for every disease.
Summer Lynch, 11
Malvern

By 2010: “10 technologies we were promised but never got”

Via: gizmodo.com

Gizmodo.com had this interesting story about “10 technologies we were promised but never got” in the past 100 years. Some of these things are plain crazy and when you weigh in all the things that weren’t promised compared to what we do have now, we can’t be mad, especially when some places still don’t have running water or electricity!

Cities Under Domes: The architect and all-around visionary R. Buckminster Fuller believed that one day, cities in cold-weather regions could be encased under temperature-controlled Geo-Domes. Fuller argued back in the ’60s that such a dome over New York City would pay for itself in 10 years, as there would be no more need for snow removal. In addition to temperature control, the domes were also supposed to contain germ filters that would have prevented us from getting sick too.

The Videophone was promised (and it exists)

The Burj Dubai: The world’s tallest skyscraper unveiled

Via: gizmodo.com

Well, well, well...it appears Dubai is down but not out. The unveiling (as it were) of the new Burj Dubai tower was heralded by yet another seen from space fireworks display (which again was incomprehensible to anyone looking at it from ground level, as well as the same climaxing-obelisk fireworks we saw in Asia on the New Year. Comparisons to the Tower of Babel (literally "Gateway of the Gods") is easy to see here.

The tower—which officially is 2717 feet tall (828 meters)—and when it was inaugurated the developers launched it with all they got. The people who attended the ceremony couldn’t stop cheering in awe. I don’t blame them. Watch the whole video to see the lighting effects just before the final fireworks. It looks as if it were designed by aliens lol.

2012 Mercedes S Class: will be a plug-in Hybrid

The truth is – plug-in or not – this is not a milk float designed to do city duty, but a clever way to offer more (performance and power) for less (emissions and fuel) and appease the green lobby at the same time.

According to Mercedes head of R&D – Thomas Weber - who says Mercedes isn’t looking at the plug-in hybrid as a cheap way in for you to enter a Mercedes S Class. In fact , he said that “…it makes a lot of sense to bundle the high-price tech option to the sort of customers willing to pay for this sort of thing.” Making it pretty clear that Mercedes see this sort of tech – at least in S Class terms – as something to aspire too. In other words, you can have it if your pockets are deep enough.
