Taylor Swift reigns over the soundscan
Taylor Swift, pictured here, held at No. 1 on the Billboard album chart this week with 262,000 sales, according to Nielsen SoundScan. It was the album’s third consecutive week at No. 1, and fourth over all since it was released in November. Beyoncé’s “I Am ... Sasha Fierce” (Columbia) reached No. 2 with 211,000, Britney Spears’s “Circus” (Jive) was No. 3 with 203,000, and Nickelback was fourth with 177,000 sales of “Dark Horse” (Roadrunner). Kanye West’s “808s & Heartbreak” (Def Jam) jumped six spots to No. 5 with 165,000 sales. Billboard reported that 47.7 million songs were downloaded last week, a record for a single week. The most popular download last week was Lady GaGa’s “Just Dance,” with 419,000.
