Soul Music: Frank Ramz and The Menahan Street Band (Mixtape - Instrumentation)

The Menahan Street Band - Download Mixtape

This is some really good windows down cruising in the car at night music. The Menahan Street Band were the original producers of Jay-Z’s Roc Boys. Frank Ramz is the MC all throughout the project, and his rhymes to say the least are phenomenal, candid, honest, and poetically insightful. A refreashing contrast to the scene of rap that is so prevalent today.

I found them on Myspace, and I was immediately inspired by each track! The album is pure instrumentation, pure soul music all throughout from start to finish (which is my kinda shit). I especially loved the track called "Karina" which gives you that James Brown feeling; I was very impressed with this tape, very very dope!

Basically, we are all trying to Make The Road By Walking. Experiencing hardships and obstacles that may make us want to give up, but we must keep moving foward. It’s soulful music w/ substance & a message.
