TBTBT - One Track Mind (CD Single) (Cold Chillin') (1993)
Toronto has made an imprint on the world with artists like Drake and Kardinal Offishall, but Toronto has a long tradition of pioneering artists who helped pave a little path for other's to follow. They're were others like TBTBT (Too bad to be True) on the Canadian musical scene; the Canadian arm of an American Iconic Rap Movement called "Cold Chillen" back in the 90's. Aww the 90's...they bring back some memories right? Well don't you ever wonder where these cats are now?

One of the group's members from TBTBT grew up (and his name is 'Brother J') and his singing was featured on the hook of this Toronto Rap City favorite for awhile, arguably making this song (in the clip below) one of Point Blank's more popular songs at the time. I recently caught up with him (and he was age 13 back in 1993). We've spent a lot of time since...talking about the streets of his native Toronto, his current music and about him wanting to take a more assertive and active role in the way music is being represented from out of Canada, I guess we'll see what happens.
