Of course the world knows that Wesley Snipes has already reported for prison to serve three years for failing to file tax returns (and not Tax Evasion). His attorneys are still attempting to appeal that sentence, and Snipes has since paid those taxes that were in arrears. His failing to pay those taxes within a certain alloted time led to "misdemeanors" that led to the maximum sentencing. The judge gave him the maximum sentencing to make an example out of him because he is a famous high profile celebrity, and this considering the legal circumstances surrounding his case was excessive.
