The Notorious B.I.G - King of New York

This pic reminded me of the Hitchcock logo outline

In 1946 there was a masterful movie entitled "Notorious" directed by Alfred Hitchcock. Well...on January the 16th 2009 an epic film/biography is scheduled for theatres entitled NOTORIOUS and it's fanfare has raised expectations to dizzying heights. It's directed by George Tillman Jr (his accredited films, Soul Food, Barbershop, & Men of Honor). It will be about the life and death of Notorious B.I.G. (a.k.a. Christopher Wallace), a rags to riches story that inspired tens of thousands culminating into the millions of records sold worldwide by aka Biggie Smalls.

One of the many trailers on the film

I'd expect this movie to be authentically Brooklyn, encapsulating the details from the "Gucci down to the socks" to his famous multi-colored sweaters, and the director will get points for that. But even more importantly one should consider while watching this movie that the murderer of B.I.G has not been brought to justice.

Chris Rock mentions the Biggie Investigation (4:16)

I will look forward to how this movie explains it's theory behind the plot...and I hope they don't Hollywood it too much when it comes to those details. One wonders whether other rap personalities like Nas and Jay-Z will be characterized in the film because they were his contemporaries. I'll also look forward to seeing some of the other details not always covered by the media, it should be an interesting biopic.

R.I.P Biggie Smalls
