Sampling is the act of taking a portion, or a sample, of one sound recording and re-using it as an instrument or a different sound recording of a song. This is typically done with a sampler, which can be a piece of hardware or a computer program on a digital computer. Sampling is also possible with tape loops or with vinyl records. Nobody in recent times has done this better than Kanye West. Below is a video cataloguing all the original songs Kanye has sampled from over the years, and their corresponding track.
