Anyway... Jay Electronica has yet to release a full-length album but his music so far has been made available through the internet, single by single, he has managed to garner for himself airplay on some of the most heavyweight radio stations across North America; and he is in my opinion (after Drake's commercial success) the next unreleased artist to cause a major paradigm shift in Hip Hop. I've compiled a bunch of songs I had on my PC, all downloads I had gotten over the last year or so of Jay Electronica content, I hope you enjoy, burn em and bang em out in your car.
For Diddy it may have been all about the Benjamins but it wasn't by any means necessary. In his interview with Playboy, he revealed how almost getting popped made him reconsider his “Frank White” and King Of New York dreams.
"Some of my friends were selling drugs in the Maryland and (Washington) D.C. area. I remember them having all this jewelry and new BMWs. I was eating ramen noodles, stealing from the 7-Eleven to get some food. I thought, 'I need to get some money like y'all have.' So I go out on the block, the strip where they're selling drugs, and my man says, 'OK, I'm going to give you this. You wait there. They'll come up to you.'
I'm out there five minutes when three cop cars pull up and officers jump out and start chasing me. I ran and got away. We reconvene in the same place two hours later. This time it's dark, and all of a sudden a van pulls up. Cops jump out and start chasing me again. There's a helicopter overhead with a light following me through the woods.”
“Some people start at 19, [by] 26 they’re done. He’s 40. He’s better than he’s ever been,” Russell Simmons marveled. “He’s hotter now than ever. I just watch him. He keeps getting better. He never changes with the hustle. He branches out in different areas, opens new doors. He’s an inspiration.”

He’s grown up in a lot of people’s eyes. Those kids who want to be like him, they’re gonna pull up their pants and look to be [in multiple businesses] as opposed to just the rapper.”
So do the industry icons who’ve already past this milestone age have advice to give Mr. Combs?
“The great thing is, he has done so much in 40 years. There’s a lot of advice he can give to other people,” Grammy winner Herbie Hancock said. “There’s so much he’s learned. I hope he continues to do that, continues to grow. I see this path he’s set for himself to expand and continue to grow in various directions. That’s a great inspiration to others.”
