Friday Night Lights Mixtape: J. Cole & Drizzy - In The Morning”
When Bosses Meet...
J. Cole & Drizzy connect for a cut off J Cole's “Friday Night Lights” mixtape that’s available now. This song "In the Morning" was Produced by L&X Music and a notable mention is Drake's voice that literally sounds as if he had gotten up in the morning to record to this, his voice sounded raspy and gave it the morning effect.
Shout out to my homie Tara who was involved in the promotions and marketing of J cole's mixtape, and congrats to J Cole breaking the mixtape download barrier, at one point it was something like 4 thousand downloads a second...that's amazing.
Collabo: J. Cole & Drizzy - In The Morning
Shouts to 2DopeBoyz for the heads up.

Down Memory Lane: Drake performs "City is Mine"
I'm reminded of how everyone starts somewhere when I look at footage like this. This is a clip from footage that we had filmed back in the day around 2007 I think...When Drake was still mostly local to us Torontonians. Performing in smaller venues amidst the realer fans who would come out to see Toronto Talent. Your craft will always take awhile before it can eventually materialize...but eventually...if you work hard enough...and you got a good team...it can happen for you!

Whose this?
Another Toronto Talent named 'Sep'

Hip Hop and Video Games: Drake Joins “Gears of War"
Via: Blackweb20.com
Drake is taking his video game debut and doing it big, lending his voice to one of Xbox 360’s most popular gaming franchises. Set to release sometime in April 2011, Drake fans can check for the Grammy-nominated artist in “Gears of War 3″. Overall, the franchise is one of the consoles most successful selling 12 million copies worldwide. In addition, the series has spawned a number of New York Times, best-selling novels, comics, and an upcoming movie.
Drake as Game Character: Jace Stratton
For those of you unfamiliar with “Gears”, it’s a third-person shooter where players take control of Marcus Fenix, a former prisoner turned war hero. As the captain of Delta Squad, Fenix and company are fighting to save the planet Sera from the unending invasion of the subterranean Locusts. In a war that has raged on for well over 14 years, humanity is being pushed to the brink of extinction. Marcus and his team are fighting a seemingly impossible battle, but the endgame is near and it’s either win or face extinction.
Drake will be voicing the character of Jace, a newcomer to the game, but a central character in the related comic book series. According to the press release, Epic Executive Producer Rod Fergusson knew he was the right man for the job.
“When we began casting for the role, ‘So Far Gone’ had just released, and Drake’s combination of heart and grit was just what we were looking for. Rather than search for somebody who sounded like him, it was clear that we should approach him directly… fortunately he turned out to be a huge fan.”
And the feeling was mutual on the rapper’s end...
“When Epic came to me with the role, I couldn’t pass it up,” said Drake. “They’ve created an amazing character in Jace, and I’m looking forward to my tour in Delta Squad.”

Drake - The Resistance
(Carried the weight for my city like a cargo ship...) - Drake
I liked this song because it shouted out "Big Rich" (Richard) someone I know through his sister here in Toronto; and those people are family to me. So...to that family...I say keep your heads up high...and everything will be better soon. Good Luck to Drake and his upcoming release (June 15th)
Thank me Later!

The Spotlight is On Singer Jhené’ Aiko: July feat Drake
Jhené’ Aiko: On Twitter
I've been so busy lately...that I'm behind on what's getting leaked these days.
Well I've heard of Jhene Aiko before, she's an American pop/R&b singer. She was formerly signed to Epic Records, home to Marques Houston and Omarion, she did some work for awhile and then took a hiatus. There hasn't been any music from her since 2006. Some say she went to school (I say: good for her) because this music business isn't always very promising. It might surprise you to know that this young woman has worked on quite a few projects; her songs have been featured on the soundtracks of Barbershop, The Master of Disguise, and 'You Got Served'.
This song by Jhené’ Aiko is called “July” and it features Canada's very own Drizzy Drake (before he was called 'Drizzy'). This song was made back in 2007 and will not be on Drake's upcoming debut Thank Me Later (I think alot of people thought this was an album leak because of the key signature rhyme style that Drake adopted, in and around that same time period which mirrors the flow that he uses now). The song was supposed to be featured in a movie soundtrack that never got released. And like any other leak it's spilled weeks before an impending Drake Buzz, how convienantly strategic for whomever it's meant to benefit (probably Jhene in this case). Nonetheless, it's a decent song, and it shows me just how resourceful Drake was (and still is) in reaching out to International counterparts in the music biz.

Drake and Trey Songz: VIDEO - SUCCESSFUL (I wanna be...)
Drake featured R&B singer, Trey Songz, on one of the hottest songs of his mixtape, So Far Gone, earlier this year and the duo who have recorded a number of songs together recently went back into the studio to re-work the song to include a full new verse from Trey Songz who will be using this new version on his upcoming album, READY, which will be out August 31st. Drake’s So Far Gone mixtape which is still available for free somewhere on the internet will be released as an EP prior to his debut album, Thank Me Later, on September 15th. Here is the video for the new version of “Successful”, directed by Jake Davis.
"Making your mark on the world is hard. If it were easy, everybody would do it. But it's not. It takes patience, it takes commitment, and it comes with plenty of failure along the way. The real test is not whether you avoid this failure, because you won't. it's whether you let it harden or shame you into inaction, or whether you learn from it; whether you choose to persevere."
- Barack Obama
