Beyonce: is a Barbie Doll...

As far as I know these Beyonce barbie dolls were never commercially released, but they were leaked to the internet recently and this is what beyonce was to look like if she we're made into a barbie doll.
Striking resemblance...

(I wonder what an Anaya Hayes Barbie Doll would look like...one day!)

They Say: Beyonce Spent 11 grand in one swoop.

Apparently Beyonce went shopping at Patricia Fields the other day, and she spent $11,000.00 in just 20 minutes. I say so what...I almost spent that much in FIVE minutes at a Car dealership once...lol. Why do people gossip about this kind of stuff? (Admittingly...I posted it for the viral internet traffic it would generate for my blog...lol). But I'm very much against Rich-people bashing...lol.

Etta James wanted to sing at Obama's inaugural - well who would have really done it better TODAY?
Sure the controversy is dead, Etta gave a tired apology and no one else thinks anything of it anymore...but I thought Id let you all decide...who sang it better today? Not who would have sang it better, obviously it's Etta's song...but Beyonce showed class giving homage to Etta James. Watch and see...

Etta James - and her tired apology
Etta has no manners...

Sure...this controversy has been on the net for a few days now, but I thought I'd post it after finding a decent YouTube link for it and her apology for the incident was weak. Beyonce in my view sang Etta James song "At Last" at Obama's inaugural ball as more of a promotional ploy for the Cadillac Records movie which I'm sure Etta co-signed her approval for seeing that she's still living (Beyonce was also one of the producers for the movie, to think Etta could have been more grateful). In stark similarity to how she's portrayed in the movie, Etta showed no class in her later years by downing Beyonce (the modern day mainstream star) for singing her classic song. The modern singer always resurrects the classic singer of older days, and she should have seen it as a compliment - instead she ashamedly had this to say...
The Incident...
Now don't get me wrong I love Etta's "music" but I did not like her weak apology...

Entertainment Marketing headed for a new high in 2009
Because fame and corporate america need each other...

I personally couldn't be happier for what's ahead in 2009...because I am a student of music and it's entertainment marketing in general. I am in the business of developing artists, and transitioning them through what is marketably viable for today's music scene - where record sales aren't enough. Celebrity appearances are an advertising staple, with one survey last year suggesting as much as 20 percent of all ads featured a TV, film or sports star. Last year (the year of Obama) was a stellar year for black celebrities in particular who created, endorsed, and cashed out on brands ranging from champagne to satellite TV.
2009 is already opening up with some very interesting developments...
Rapper Soulja Boy is becoming a Cartoon Series...

Soulja Boy may not be the kind of Hip Hop I'd like, but within the corporate playing field there is a place for everybody who fits the mold. Soulja Boy has been able to make a name for himself that’s permanently etched into today’s pop culture. His newest project is “Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em: The Animated Series”, a 2D/3D cartoon hybrid that’s a little bit South Park. And I predict that he may end up doing better in this arena than Andre 3000, M.C. Hammer, and Kid ‘n’ Play.
Mr. Chicken & Beer, Ludacris becomes the first...

The Atlanta-bred rapper’s new album “Theater of the Mind” will experiment with a new technology called HDS (High Definition Sound) which is basically a higher fidelity of surround sound that isolates Luda’s voice and his instrumentals in a way that makes every single note clear. His album is the first rap record to be released in HDS. His album will not only be released on CD but in special BluRay format as well...He's definately pushing into new things.
Kobe Bryant is enterprising Online...

Want the latest information on Lakers shooting guard Kobe Bryant?
The recently re-launched KB24.com This website is not just a clean charcoal and chrome design, but it has some social networking and fan interaction features (video, audio, photos, chats, personal profile pages, etc.) and a $50 price tag to access them all. You also get a T-shirt with that purchase. If you’re looking to go the free route, Kobe’s new site still offers some information. The “News” portion of the site functions a bit like a blog, offering information on Kobe’s media appearances, games, and new kicks available in the KB24.com store. I'm interested to see how well this site does...

The Newlyweds I admire, they pocketed $162 Million in 2008

They are becoming quite the force in popular culture amassing more together then probably any other couple since the Clintons lol. The chart-topping newlyweds have had a monster year in 2008 so far. Shawn Carter banked $82 million by signing a $150 million 10-year recording, touring and merchandising deal with concert promoter Live Nation and releasing his second platinum comeback CD, American Gangster. Beyonce banked $80 million, thanks to her entertainment empire which spans across fashion, film and publishing deals as well as a concert tour that sold $50 million in tickets and endorsement deals with L’Oréal, Direct TV and American Express, among others.
Hollywood's best-paid power couple watch a game of basketball while branding relative to Jay Z exists all around them (Rocawear on the seats and along the court-side). They represent the new black power of this era and their earning potential is unpredicatably enormous.
Naturally, powerful people tend to gravitate toward other powerful people, for reasons that range from proximity (stars hang around other stars) to familiarity (people are attracted, at least initially, to others like them) to clearer expectations (shared priorities make it easier for celebrities to relate). No matter how they get together, the results are good for the bottom line - and that shared incentive is not always just money; it could be the accomplisment factor that contributes to the relationship. Either way it is a healthy and inspiring image for countless thousands of people who percieve these musical icons as ro-models.
