Napolean's Talisman: for “good luck” and it was also a symbol of his love for esoteric knowledge

Via: Napoleon Sphinx.Com

Among the world's pantheon of famous personages, ranked among them easily is Napoleon Bonaparte; considered by many to be one of the most influential figures in European history. Currently, descendants of Napoleon’s wife, Josephine, include the Royal families of Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, Norway, and Luxembourg.

He was Born in 1769, and what makes him particularly interesting to me is that he was crowned the Emperor of France by 1804 (an accomplishment reached by age 35). It's guys like this that make me work so hard, and I become fascinated by the subtle values of his character. What did he read, know and believe, what inspired his imagination, and what gave him his determination and ambitions?

In the year 1799, after Napoleon returned from an expedition in Egypt, he commissioned a spectacular sculpted and jeweled piece of artwork. This was Napoleon’s “talisman” or “good luck charm” as we might call it today. Napoleon spent a considerable amount of time planning the intricate design of the jewels that compose the base of this sphinx. The jewels are arranged in a secret code that reflects Napoleon’s love for his wife, Josephine, and his successful military and political career.

The piece which has also been called "The Sphinx of Josephine" was made of pure crystal, which was a material considered magical from time immemorial. Although it is made of matter, it is purposely transparent, representing an intermediary state between what is visible and what is not. More on this can be found at the link above the top picture.

Manly P. Hall: 33rd Degree Mason and philosophical teacher (Mar 18, 1901 - Aug 29, 1990)

Via: manlyphall.org

Manly P Hall was a Canadian-born author and mystic. He is perhaps most famous for his work The Secret Teachings of All Ages: An Encyclopedic Outline of Masonic, Hermetic, Qabbalistic and Rosicrucian Symbolical Philosophy, which is widely regarded as his magnum opus, which he published at the age of 25. I’ve already bought a copy of this book, which was about 700 pages, and I have to say that it holds some really amazing knowledge and wisdom that really has been kept secret from the blind eye.

It was first published in 1928, and the amount of research, work, and experience required to write it boggled my mind. This book alone was enough to prove Manly Hall’s genius and wisdom. He lived until 1990 and over his 70-year career delivered approximately 8,000 lectures in the United States and abroad, authored over 150 books and essays, and wrote countless magazine articles.

He has been widely recognized as a leading scholar in the fields of religion, mythology, mysticism, and the occult. In the video above Manly P Hall touches on so many important issues including what needs to be done in today's climate of political and economic instability. It was viewed by me as a dissertation of integrity and I likened this video to the feeling that one would get from sitting at the feet of a very wise grandfather, soaking up the wisdom.

One of the greatest social evolutionary accidents: The Black Panther Party for Self Defense

In this world it's not enough that people have to claw there way to scratch out a living; but now you've got to fight even for your own mind. Believe me when I say to you that the mind is the new real estate of this millennium. The powers that be have already bought up every square inch of this planet; and the only thing left for them to acquire is the privacy in the space of your own mind, and they want that to!

Every attempt at consciousness has been stomped under the boot heels of repression, all attempts at magnetizing the people with a program is always seen as a threat to the established social order; which we all know (deep down in our souls) is currently unjust, unfair, and not equal for all men.

I read the paper, and I watch the news and I observe social conditions and I'm a witness to the changes that are intensifying (right now). Gross inequalities exist more now in certain ways then they did in decades past. I am aware of the impending social, political and economic calamity; the likes of which has never been seen before in history.

When this sudden calamity comes I fear that the people, the common every day citizen will have been too nullified in there abilities to be a survivor. All but a few will have had the sense and the foresight to save there own skins. I put these videos up detailing the history of the Black Panthers; because to me that movement was one of the greatest experiments for social change within a capitalist system.

Perhaps again when the financial markets fail (as they did during the great depression) and when the people get hip to how unjust the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are, and when they start realizing that there lives are miserable because banksters rule unjustly; perhaps then...we will see another social evolutionary accident happen.

The Nicholas Brothers: the standard for every dancer since

Th Nicholas brothers (Fayard and Harold) were the most talented and innovative dance team of their time and they have set the standard for every dancer since. Gregory Hines once said that if their biography was ever filmed, the dance sequences would have to be computer generated because no one would be able to perform their moves. This is their most famous routine from “stormy weather”.

Big fan of the Bossa Nova Sound: Real Swag is in Brazilian Music

I have an infatuation with Brazil's music culture. For me, it's real suave music, classy and what I listen to on my down time. The Bossa Nova sound is what people like Frank Sinatra tried to emulate in so many ways. Everytime I listen to this music I think to myself...this is what James Bond would listen to whenever with a woman.

A "Bossa Nova" medley - Live in 1968

The song 'Estate' by Joao Gilberto

Estate means summer in Italian

Lyrics:

Summer
you're hot like the kisses I lost
you're full of a love that is past
and that my heart would erase

I hate the summer
the sun that used to warm us everyday
what wonderful sunsets it painted
now it burns only with rage

A new winter will come back
a thousand roses' petals will fall
the snow will cover everything
and maybe a little peace will come back

I hate the summer
that gave her scent to every flower
the summer that created our love
just to let me die of sorrow

And then the true master...Antonio Carlos Jobim

Samba + Jazz = Brasil

The Blackberry Device has come a long way (Research in Motion, last 10 yrs)

Blackberry has come a long way since the days of that phone pictured above. The people at Blackberry knew how to build an electronic organizer that does what it says it's going to do, keeps your information in sync with your PC, runs for forever and a day on a single set of batteries, and does it all with a minimum of fuss; the result was - people fell in love.

It spawned a continuation of brilliance in innovative design...

History gives us the clues that can dispel modern misconceptions about Religion & Race

I'm up as usual...in the wee hours of the night doing some reading and researching, usually about different things; things that will engage my mind and make me think outside of the consumerism that we're all surrounded by on a daily basis (my blog has always been about more then just my opinions on fashion and music). I'm reminded of some words that I had read somewhere by Malcolm X and I quote: "...it's a crime what people don't know about their history. And we have not only to learn history, but I invite you to that other excitement, the excitement of unlearning history, unlearning the history that you learned". I remember those words hitting me in an unusual way because I had never known up until that point that one should "unlearn" something, and the process of unlearning became even more fun then learning itself.

I am quoting Malcolm X because in all honesty; his autobiography was one of the first books that turned the light bulb in my head on about various subjects like history, religion, philosophy, human rights etc. Now I'm about to get into a subject that's a bit sticky for a lot of people, and most people tend to avoid it whenever possible - that subject is Religion (but I'm unafraid to examine it). A lot of people think Religion is a waste of time, a dividing issue that isn't needed in an age as modern as the one we live in. To those people I say...Cool...if it's that bothersome or uncomfortable for you then by all means leave it alone. But for the people who wouldn't mind tarrying along, then to you I say WELCOME, and let's delve into it together. This is another quote by Malcolm X that sums up the theme of my blog post tonight, and it reads as follows:

"Do you know that if you and I know history we know the right religion? The only way that you can become confused, that you can become mixed up and not know which religion belongs to God, is if you don't know history. In fact, you have to know history to know something about God. You have to know history to know something about God's religion. You have to know history to know something about God's people. You have to know history to know something about God's plans and God's purposes."

Now...I'm of the opinion that Africa gave a lot of things to the world, one of those things is "spirituality" and like most of the other things that are African originated inventions; ideas fell at the mercy of those colonizers who came, snatched ancient African concepts and then CHANGED them to suit other customs for other cultures. This isn't an uncommon thing to do, it's been done with Music, Fashion, Culinary art, and it's no different when it comes to spirituality and religious doctrines; people will always clone what's popular and re-arrange it to make it look as if it's a newer original idea. But nothing new is under the sun; it's all been here before, just with a slightly different name, said in a slightly different way, and if done long enough the fervor associated with those beliefs will be long held traditions that some people would openly die for. Consider this blog post a PART ONE in the discussion about religion and history, and watch these videos below about the presence of Africans in the region known as Israel today, because that presence has a lot to do with who were the originators of many of the world's spiritual concepts.

My Concluding Point: In Ancient times and even up until this very day, the original Ethiopians, Egyptians and Israelis are virtually the same people. The biblical figure known as Moses was mistaken for an Egyptian (remember the story wherein Moses as a baby was snatched from the river Nile by Egypt's Queen). When Jesus's life was threatened when only a little boy, his mother Mary took Jesus and fled into Egypt where they could hide, if they were of any other racial delineation other then African then they would have been detected easily in that population. The ancient Egyptians and Ethiopians were the same people; the nations of Cush, Mizarim, Phut and Canaan are all Brothers.

Dr Dre - The Wreckin Cru - Hip Hop History

TWENTY ONE YEARS AGO - Dr Dre used to get down with classic electro and funk, mixed in with golden mid-80’s Hip Hop. This was close to the early NWA period, Dr Dre definately has his roots in early Hip Hop. It was great for me to find this because I'm an admirer of Vintage Hip Hop and it made me appreciate Dre's hustle even more now that he's a media-mogul in the game. There really isn't much else I can say other then you need to check this one out.

The Barbie Doll turns 50

This pic kinda tripped me out at first, but then when I looked at it again I thought about how they should use this pop-cultural iconic toy in advertisements against smoking at a very young age...lol. Barbie's body has come under criticism for offering girls unrealistic expectations of womanhood, and even for inspiring eating disorders and related pathologies, re-inventing her throughout the decades has been a work in progress.

The Barbie doll is sold in over 150 countries, has represented more than 50 nationalities and ethnicities. 'Totally Hair Barbie' was released in 1992. The doll's extra-long hair reached all the way to her toes. more than 10 million of these dolls were sold world wide, making 'totally hair barbie' the best-selling barbie doll in mattel's history. They should make an Obama and Michelle Obama Barbie...lol...how well would that sell?

Sheit...I'm just giving my ideas away for free huh...

The inauguration of a new kind of President, but will he be a new kind of Politician?

The world is in a frenzy...anxiously anticipating as Washington D.C. gears up for the inauguration of the 44th president-elect, soon to be called President Barack Obama. He is a blackman with a funny-sounding name, who was once said to be a long shot, and he was called unqualified and untested. He was bruised and battered during the primaries against Hillary Clinton only to later on turn around and hire her. A man who when he takes office will be expected to literally turn water into wine by making the U.S dollar a world leading currency again, which is not an easy task considering the kinds of challenges that lay ahead.

Some points to remember:

1) Politicians have been known to rally and use the masses through trickery and deceit.

2) Politicians will make promises to their constituents in return for those people's acquiescence.

3) Nothing that politicians ever promise is ever fulfilled as described (that's an important one to remember).

Will Barack turn to the dark side? We should HOPE not...

History repeats itself: A Student of History would know whats happening

A FACT: On August 08, 2008 a world event happened, and it was seen as little or nothing more then an attack by one country on another country, but it was much much more then that. The region that was attacked was known as the land of "Gog" from earliest history...but it has a slightly different name today.

To which country does this Flag belong?

ANS: It belongs to the Republic of Georgia

The country which was not too long ago attacked by the Russians. Its people happen to have a very rich heritage; and this nation was obscure to most people until now. What alot of people don't know is that during the 12th century, Georgia was the center of an empire that had stretched across the Caucasus region. IT'S HISTORY IS WELL KNOWN TO HISTORIANS, but I'd like to make it more well known to all of you...in a more interesting and revealing way.

Below is the emblem for the Kingdom of Jerusalem
During the Christian Era of Rule/The Five Fold Cross

It can be seen here on the chest plate of King Baldwin IV
in the Movie 'Kingdom Of Heaven' by Ridley Scott

THE CONNECTION
The country of Georgia is named after Saint George, the symbolic liberator of Jerusalem during the Crusades. In the year 1120 A.D the Kingdom of Jerusalem officially recognized the Order of Knights Templar at the council of Nablus. That was exactly 888 years ago from this year. If we do some magic math, 1120 + 888 = 2008. The attack by Russia on Georgia broke out in 08/08/2008. I'm usually not as interested in theories that speculate heavily on numerology because it tends to leave me more fascinated than convinced; but you should know that the region where the fighting first broke out in Georgia is 888 miles from the temple mount in Jerusalem in an area called South Ossetia.

The fighting in this area continues until now, and it isn't as reported on as before. Georgia's president had recently said that his country has been effectively cut in half with the capture of the main east-west highway near Gori. With this move Russia can now cut off eastern Georgia from the country's western Black Sea coast. Russian troops have driven well beyond South Ossetia and Abkhazia, and they don't appear to be pulling back from what they want. The Interfax news agency says Russian troops in Abkhazia's region have started an operation to push Georgian forces out of the northern Kodori Gorge. So clearly its a full out assault and the United States is expected to react in defence of Georgia, WHAT WILL THAT MEAN FOR THE WORLD?

Bush had this to say:
"I just met with my national security team to discuss the situation in Georgia. I am deeply concerned by reports that Russian troops have moved beyond the zone of conflict, attacked the Georgian town of Gori, and are threatening Georgia's capital of Tiblisi. If these reports are accurate, these Russian actions would represent a dramatic and brutal escalation of the conflict in Georgia,"

If this all doesn't matter to you...then the propaganda machine is working just as it should work, keeping the masses blind, deaf and dumb to what's really going on. Haven't you noticed the excessive over-coverage in the news lately about that twit Sarah Palin and her ramblings about a re-run for the white house in 2016, and all the nonsense about her being the future leader of the republican party. And then theres Hillary Clinton and this nonsense about whether her husband is a conflict of interest should she decide to wanna be Secretary of State, Ummm why wasn't Bill just as compromising to her ambitions for President? Like this is stupid news for stupid people...and if that wasn't bad enough you've got the automotive bailout taking all of your attention away from a possible Super-Power showdown - and of course they do the usual congressional song and dance of stalling the legislation for awhile before finally sucking corporate dick, its all a joke people, all of it.

Wake up and smell Georgia Burning...
