Fashion: Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci works with Converse - and the Y-3 Mobility Duffle

Givenchy and Riccardi Tisci have gotten together with Converse Japan to work on their Converse Addict All Star Hi sneaker. Interesting details include a tonal shiny leopard all over print on top of the black canvas upper, spiked heel and of course the added comfort with the Vibram outer sole. The sneakers will release in Japan in limited quantities on April 27th.

Made from durable Cordura Nylon, Y-3 presents the very solid Mobility Wheel Duffle as part of its Spring/Summer 2011 Collection. When it comes to backpacks and messenger bags, the choice is wide these days. But if you want something proper to travel for longer than a weekend, then this Duffle comes in a nice mix of nylon and leather and features just the right amount of details to set it apart.

KICKS - TX CANVAS BROWN: Made by HUF

I stopped by a fashion store known to Torontonians as Livestock and I found some Canvas sneakers made by HUF that were pretty dope, matching it with a cashmere coat I had bought some weeks ago. Every time I go to this spot I'm met with excellent service and the product lines are always fresh and innovative, definitely one of the better places for urban fashion and sneakers in general; for the shopper who'd want an item from a place that isn't as mainstream as Foot Locker etc.

IDEALL CLOTHING: Nollege Tee (LegendsLeague Apparell)

Via: Ideall Clothing

An independent fashion designer from Toronto by the name of Bryan Espiritu is a name well known to Torontonians who are possessed with that extra unusual flare for fashion's twist on things. His creative take on fashion has won him others from around the world who spread the word about his designs. He creates concepts that have within them deeper messages, that are brought to the forefront, and it's become a trademark style that I can honestly say is his marquee signature. I've been an admirer of his technical skill and I can easily state that he is a household Toronto name as far as dope gear goes within Toronto's artistic community.

Below is the Nollege Tee Concept...which is a twist from the word College, and it's just the right amount of defiance without seeming too revolutionary. It's definately the kind of T-shirt that's bound to get attention, and it was worthy of a post because it's something I wanna buy.

You don't have to be High-Society to look like High Fashion

Retail Source: DeadStock.ca

Above: is a picture of the "VANS CHUKKA BUCKLEBACK LX BLACK"

Fashion is one of my *hearts* (and yes, I have many hearts/loves). It's been awhile since I've blogged repeatedly and that's because I've been immersed in things more important (and that's not to say that fashion isn't important to me, because fashion is beauty and "fine lines" and intricate craftsmanship, all of the things I love). Although lately I've been studying more about "health and natural living" and I'll be blogging about some of those inspirations in the near future (my computer has had a virus that I'm trying to get rid of...lol).

So in the meantime; I'm gonna share some of my fashionable loves with you...

1. Nike NSW 2010 Fall Apparel

Nike sneakers, sure, but I'm not always the biggest fan when it comes to Nike clothing. This jacket though is bad-ass, and it has that storm-trooper kind of look; laser cut seams, a bonded construction all throughout so you know this jacket will keep you warm and dry. The technical and aesthetic design is what I always look for in my recommendations to you guys, and this is both intricate and fashionably simple. Hit the link above for more pics of this piece.

2. Converse Chuck Taylor Outsider Boot X Woolrich

I can personally testify from last season's line that Converse makes a really dope pair of boots that can look dressy depending on what you wear, and they can be rugged as well if you want them to be. The smooth leather feel, and the laces give it this military kind of look without looking too monstrously huge, with a nice tweed 3 quarter length over coat you can wear these boots and pull off a really cool look.

This season

Last season (still available)

Dangerous Negro.Com: Message Inspired Apparel (I like)

Via: dangerousnegro.com

The Intro from there website...

Rather than your standard welcome spiel,
we think Morpheus can explain it best:

The Matrix [Mis-education] is everywhere. It is all around us, even now in this very room. You can see it when you look out your window or when you turn on your television. You can feel it when you go to work; when you go to church; when you pay your taxes. It is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth…that you are a slave. Like everyone else you were born into bondage. Born into a prison that you cannot smell or taste or touch. A prison for your mind. Unfortunately no one can be told what the Matrix [Mis-education] is. You have to see it for yourself.

When you have a minute go to the site's link posted above the header picture and there's a section there where you can even design your own message inspired T-shirt.

Fashion Review: Clothing Line 'Public School' Fall 09 line

It's a dope jacket...

Clothing Line 'Public School'

The folks at 'Public School' have some very solid pieces that force a single, consistent personality all throughout but will still set the wearer apart from the average person, very dope I think.

Obama x Run DMC fusion (Run DC T-Shirt)

This is dope...I want one.

In the spirit of this T-Shirt (above) I found a vintage live performance by DJ Jazzy Jeff, and it opens up with a Run DMC intro, catalogued and filed from back in 1989...and you could tell by how he cuts up the records. It's pretty dope to hear how Hip Hop was spun back in "my day". If you appreciate the essence of Hip Hop history, then you'd be transported back in time with this very rare set by DJ Jazzy Jeff.

Japanese Hip Hop Culture - Market Product of the Month - Flip The Script Clothing

Flip The Script - Official Site

Click picture to enlarge, the details are immaculate...

What we have here is a special collaborative varsity jacket made by three brands: Flip The Script (Japan), Selector (in LA), and Foreign Family (in LA). I personally liked the black version over the blue one they have because of the way the features stand out more clean on the black leather sleeves. The jacket has a black torso, and charcoal grey trim such as on the shoulder panel and the striped ribbing at the collar, wrist cuffs, and waist follow the same color patterns. Most of the artwork and graphics and logos are done in black, white, and grey, and there's a beautiful logo embroidery at the front right, above a woven patch with all three brand names, an embroidered chenille graphic of praying hands at the front left, a printed patch on the left sleeve at the shoulder, and another woven patch at the left wrist, Flip The Script patches on the right shoulder, and best of all, a large chenille & felt skull across the back, by MR44 Brand who incorporated the names of the three brands into the graphic skull. Soft black nylon lining inside. NOTE: It fits about a half size small, so you might want to consider buying a size larger than usual...it's BEAUTIFUL.

Japan is keeping Hip Hop alive...

Clothing Store: Multi Toronto

I AM IN DEMAND.COM brings you essential coverage on boutiques & trend stores, new products, street life, and the personalities that inspire your creative and commercial vision.

Click picture to enlarge...

Clothing Store: Multi Toronto, is a gem in the city of Toronto. The store specializes in fashions for the independent unique personalized dresser. Their staff helps you track down the newest and most influential street style trends and explains them in commercial terms. I found them to be extremely knowledgeable about trends, and their clothing selections spanned from North American urban to Asian urban. And I found out later that they promote trendy parties as well...contact them or visit their store, you're sure to find something you'd like. Their website is www.multitoronto.ca, but that site is currently under construction; and their sister-site/franchise in Asia has a website that is comparable to what they'd have in their toronto store. Visit that site: Multi Seoul - for fashions they carry.

Crooks & Castles and the Notorious B.I.G Premier...

Crooks and Castles T-Shirt

Jim and Juelz give away free tickets to the premier of Biggie's Movie in Harlem.

Jim says: “I did it for hip-hop. And for me it’s as big as Obama being the first black president. This is part of our history in the urban community; and Biggie was like our first Obama.”

Juelz says: “This is my way of saying thank you to Big. I never got a chance to meet him, so this is me as a Harlem dude saluting a cat from Brooklyn, in a small but meaningful way. Jim and I figured that so many people in the hip-hop community would be going to the see the movie individually; if we can make it so that everyone sees it together, that’s a great thing.”

This movie is expected to be really BIG...

Another Phresh Moment - clothing brand - ' The ILLionaires '

The designing founders of this brand have a really trendy concept, laden with images of revolutionary content mixed in with a proprietary hip hop classiness, I found this brand to be really innovative with the potential to go really far.

They've described the ILLionaire brand in this way:

" A billionaire is richer than a millionaire with just the change of a letter. So what happens when you eliminate that letter? You get the illionaires. There is no dollar value to what we are trying to accomplish. We are four guys working, literally, from the ground up. The Illionaires stands for that daily strive of becoming more than you ever dreamed of. "

Shit I was sold...lol...because it sounds just like me...I wanna get to the ILLIONS of dollars, not millions or billions, but ILLIONS, ya feel me? lol. You can order available stock through this site Streetwearscene.com

This is the 'Illionaires Obama Riot'

100% premium breathable cotton. Seamless crew neck collar comfort, double needle stitch, taped shoulder to shoulder. Screen printed/film design on front. Will run you about $22.00 bucks.

It's Phresh...Check their blog, it's listed to the side in our blog directory.

Another Phresh Moment - I'm browsin for shoe brands: Alife & The Hundreds

I like this show because of it's simplicity. They come in 4 colors with either nubuck or suede, these casual kicks are very clean looking with a California feel that is easy on the pockets.

Alife is an independant fashion line that has done a great job establishing themselves through their unique designs. I like them because they use materials such as patent leather, 3M, premium leather, ostrich leather, suede, and canvas among others.
